On October 3, 2024, the head of the Gambling and Lotteries Regulatory Commission (KRAIL) shared the main achievements of the commission over the past four years. The most impressive result was that more than 5.6 billion hryvnias were collected only for licenses to organize games. This was an important step for the development of the gambling business in Ukraine and the creation of transparent conditions for its operation.
According to the head of KRAIL, such results testify to the effective work of the commission in the field of gambling regulation, which allows Ukraine to integrate into the European gambling business system. "We were able not only to create conditions for the legalization of this market, but also to ensure stable revenues to the budget," he emphasized.
In addition to license fees, one of the main achievements of KRAIL was the strengthening of control over compliance with legislation in this area. This includes both combating the illegal gambling business and ensuring the responsibility of licensed operators for providing quality and safe services.
"We are actively working to ensure that the gambling business in Ukraine is not only profitable for the economy, but also safe for consumers. That is why we are introducing new standards of responsible gaming and strengthening the requirements for licensed companies," added the head of KRAIL.
The commission also emphasized the importance of international cooperation in this field. In recent years, KRAIL has established cooperation with a number of European regulators, which allowed Ukraine to implement best practices in the field of gambling.
